Drones will be of high interest for some of the 8,500 people attending the National Association of Realtors Legislative Meetings & Expo this week. FAA officials will give a regulatory update and address the question: When, where and how can I use my drone? Also on the agenda: Field trips to four agencies, and visits to congressional offices by 465 "federal political coordinators."
NATSO—Representing America's Travel Plazas and Truck Stops, will hold its popular Congressional Pie Reception Tuesday at the House Rayburn Building, with more than a dozen varieties, from Chocolate Crème to Strawberry Lemonade. More than 50 NATSO members are expected to make Hill visits Wednesday. Top issues include funding for a long-term highway bill, which expires May 31.
The recreational boating industry kicks off the summer season with three days of advocacy. More than 250 executives are gathering for the American Boating Congress, hosted by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and about three dozen state and local groups. Issues include the Renewable Fuel Standard, tax reform, and invasive aquatic species.
Other groups meeting in D.C. this week include: American International Automobile Dealers, Associated General Contractors, Electronic Retailing Association, American Academy of Family Physicians and the Council of Family Medicine, Trauma Center Association of America, National Association of Police Organizations, American Wholesale Marketers Association, National Electrical Contractors Association and the Petroleum Marketers Association of America.
